Ruby laser of 694nm wavelength has different level of penetration through the blood vessels in melanin compared to the laser rays in other wavelengths. It has a significantly low impact on the blood vessels and high impact on melanin pigments. As it hardly causes adverse effects as most of the energy is absorbed by melanin, not the blood vessels, it is most specialized for treating pigmentation.
